As of today, Shopify retailers will leverage a new, consolidated Shopify Collective shipping profile. This combines in one place a single, streamlined system for all products from Collective—formerly housed across many different individual supplier shipping profiles. This shipping profile will enable retailers to live-fetch their suppliers' shipping rates and easily apply them to customers at checkout. This would then ensure that the most accurate, up-to-date shipping costs are reflected in the final purchase.

Previously, before this upgrade, every time the retailer imported products from different suppliers, Shopify would automatically create a different shipping profile for every supplier. Apart from the products, which were imported along with shipping rates, all their consequent rate updates by suppliers did not auto-sync to the retailer's store Shipping Profiles. That meant that in the event of any change, retailers would need to update these shipping profiles manually, something that could be very time-consuming and prone to errors. This new system bypasses this problem and provides a much easier and more reliable way for shipping.
